Understanding the role

What this looks like
in everyday life.

Short-break arrangements can give children a positive experience with another trusted carer and support the people who usually care for them. Consistency and good communication matter, even when a stay is brief.

You get to know the child’s routines, preferences and needs, and work within an agreed plan. This is still a professional caring role, with assessment, preparation and responsibilities.

Let’s talk about the practicalities.

We’ll explain the payment arrangement, your availability and the support around you before you make a decision.

A question worth asking

Is this a way to fit care around work?

It may be worth exploring, depending on the arrangements and the child’s needs. It is not a guaranteed weekend-only role. Talk to us about what you can realistically offer.
